The Transjakarta lanes located on Jalan Jatinegara Barat, East Jakarta is sterilized from other vehicles, Monday (4/22). Sterilization involves 42 joint personnel.

As a result, joint personnel took action against private cars and motorbikes as well as government and national army (TNI)-police vehicles that broke through the Transjakarta lane corridor

Joint TNI/Police Control Officer, CPM Let. Col. Yudho stated the Transjakarta lane sterilization would become a routine activity at different locations, which aim to create traffic order, as well as encourage people to switch to using public transportation.

"Besides TNI-Police and government official vehicles, we also target residents' vehicles," he expressed.

According to him, the 42 personnel involved in this operation were from elements of Puspom TNI, Pomdam Jaya, Puspom TNI AU, Puspom TNI AL, Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya, and Propam Polda Metro Jaya assisted by officers from the Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub).

One of the motorbike drivers, Yudi (42) who caught in this operation, admitted that he had to use the Transjakarta lane because he was in a hurry considering traffic jams on the existing route.

"I was in a hurry. I didn't know there was a raid," he admitted.
